The Seiser Alm winter
Boundless winter magic
The Seiser Alm’s sunny and wind-sheltered slopes and breathtaking high mountain scenery make it a winter holiday destination nonpareil. It is ideal for enthusiasts of all types of winter sports, ages and ability, quite unlike any other ski resort anywhere in the Alps. It is Europe’s vastest expanse of Alpine pastureland abounding with cosy log-built huts beside the slopes offering refreshments and a place to relax, sledging runs for families (from 1 to 6 km in length), plus countless winter walking and cross-country ski trails. Its 60 kilometres of downhill runs at elevations ranging from 5,600 to 9,850 feet above sea level offer plenty for everybody, from relaxing family slopes, facilities for snowboarders (there is a legendary snowboard park), to exciting runs for daredevils in search of an adrenalin rush. And what winter holiday would be complete without an evening in congenial company in a snug, log-built hut followed by an exhilarating return downhill by sledge? All ski runs are served by state-of-the-art lift systems and are maintained perfectly groomed. The area is especially family-friendly and the Dolomiti Superski in association with the hospitality establishments (including Hotel Bad Ratzes) offers attractive deals for children, special ski school discounts and plenty more. There are ski deposits at both terminals of the Seis-Seiser Alm gondola lift.
