Nature whispers – in our Online Magazine
Some days just go on and on: thoughts come one after another, appointments follow on from one another. Everything is in place – yet you often feel a little detached from yourself. What is lacking is rarely a long break, but rather something else. A brief interlude. A quiet pause. A moment when there is nothing pressing.
Ten minutes can be enough. Ten minutes when you don’t have to go through the motions, when your vision opens up, your thoughts slow down and something else can emerge. Not with the aim of achieving something – but, instead, of finding your way back. Back to yourself.
Perhaps it is this very feeling of calm and slowing down that we associate with certain places. With the forest that absorbs you; with the water that follows its own course; with the vastness that does not impose itself, but is simply there.
And, sometimes, all of that is not simply out there, but closer than you think – in the here and now.
Bad Ratzes has always been a place where you can get a little closer to yourself. Not because of what happens here, but because so many things become quieter. Over time, this gives rise to a feeling – one that lingers, even long after you’ve left.
The question was of whether this very feeling could be carried further. Not as a memory, but as something to be rediscovered. Something that is there, yet without imposing itself.
My Silence Place comes from this idea. No affectations, no distractions, no pressure. It is instead an opportunity to briefly escape the everyday, and find peace.
An audio-visual journey consisting of images, sounds and what lies in between. Nothing loud, nothing demanding. Ten minutes that you set aside – not to get anywhere, but rather to let yourself drift.
I’m closer than you think. Once you start to open yourself up.
— Bad Ratzes
Gentle sounds, moving images: the forest, the water, the vast expanse. And something that cannot be grasped, but can be felt. Not as a substitute for a place, but as a connection – to Bad Ratzes, to what makes this place special, and perhaps also to yourself. The idea behind it was never to show something: it was rather to make something tangible.
And, sometimes, it is enough to take just a moment to do exactly that. Ten minutes. For yourself.
